Week 37

April Fools Day has been about as weird as it gets. On the one hand, we're thrilled that the baby is now officially full term, so he can come out anytime without any worries. But because there are three and a half weeks left in the semester, we've been crossing our fingers for him to come just a bit after the due date. That's changed now, as I learned today that I was passed over for the tenure-track job. This means a lot of regrouping for next year, a likely move out of Memphis sooner than later, and no more reason to hope the baby will be patient. On the contrary -- I hope he comes SOON! It's hard to imagine a better distraction than a newborn.
