Imposters
Fashion continues to fascinate me. I bought two maternity tops online at The Gap, but went to regular teenager Gap to return them yesterday because they were just too suburban and shapeless. And then I spied a stylish silk trapeze blouse with low and flattering décolletage, empire waist, and kimono sleeves. I figured it would be too short to cover a belly, but it was cut low in the front and fit perfectly. There was also a wool sweater in a similar design: 3 little buttons at the gathered empire waist, with a slit opening on a dome-shape matching my own. It's strange to trade maternity for teenage and find a better fit. Perhaps I'll run into a trendy 17 year old wearing this season's latest and will watch her expression as she realizes that both of us are imposters, sort of.
