This is still T-mama posting, on a rare break from the hospital:
We still don't have quite the solid answers we'd like, and maybe we never will, but right now baby Fausto's awesome team of specialists is most interested in getting him off all the funky hospital stuff (warming lamps and IV fluids mainly) so he can prove he'll do fine at home. It has made today feel a whole lot more normal that the conversations with nurses and doctors have been more about milk and poop than about infectious diseases and "events." Our little tiny man is also fattening up visibly and is taking well to nursing. This picture is about 24 hours old and doesn't show his new and fabulous double-chin, but it does give a good sense of his disposition. The contraption on his arm is a super-bundled IV.

I didn't check your blog for a few days and so I missed the scary beginning to this story. I'm glad Mr. Fausto is doing better, and I hope he gets to come home soon and return to a life of unrestricted snuggling with his parents.
much love to all,
Megan
OMG! He is soo beautiful! We are so sorry to hear about your ordeal. There cannot be anything more frightening than something so instant and unexpected as what you both have been through. We are so happy to hear the positive reports. I hope to see more pics of Fausto soon (and at home!).
Btw, I think your poll on sports was slightly skewed - not one for cycling? c'mon!?!? This whole family gives all their vote to cycling - that's 5!!
love you guys!

I'm sure Fausto is as scrappy out of the womb as he was in it--a real fighter! We love you guys and are sending veritable shockwaves of positive energy your way. He's absolutely beautiful (is that William or you he looks like? I can't quite tell yet). Send little updates, or have William send them, whenever you can. We're really hand-wringing over here.
So glad to see things are looking better, thinking of you all, and he is such a sweet little guy, you can see it in his eyes. Gives me chills.
