Homebirth Cut-Off?
Yesterday two different friends asked at what point the midwives would cut us off on having a homebirth. This had never occurred to me. I knew that we had to hit 36 weeks of pregnancy for them to okay homebirth, but I didn't think the window closed, too. The friends who brought this up were a homebirth mama from California and a doula from Minnesota. Apparently in both states if you get to 42 weeks of pregnancy you're stuck with a hospital birth. We saw our midwife today and asked what the rules are in Tennessee. Thanks to the amazing midwives at The Farm, Tennessee's laws allow midwives to decide what's best for their clients. That's good news for us, since on Tuesday, we hit the 42 week mark.

Thank you Ina May Gaskin! The babies on The Farm have such happy birth stories.
Everywhere, but the USA, it is absolutely normal to have your first birth be over 42 weeks. Fausto will be born in the perfect moment, on his own time. What a joy!
