Papa-daddy once again.
Happy, happy news from the Neurology consult today. Fausto's brain MRI came back perfect, and the neurologist described his EEG (see picture) as "very good" with a baseline consistent with a 1-week old. He showed two "positive waves" that she said was probably an artifact of the little seizures he suffered, but she predicted that if they were to run the test again in two weeks they'd be gone. And in any case, she believes there will be no lasting injury.
We are, of course, delirious with relief. Actually, that's really just me. T-mama has been completely convinced of his excellent prognosis for days.
We're cleared to bring the little man home with us tomorrow. We'd hoped it would be today, but they are sending us home with a portable heart and respiration monitor, mostly so mom and dad can sleep at night. We got our training on that today, but they want us to spend a night there with him using it so we can prove that we know what we are doing.
That might seem a bit silly, but only if you weren't in the training with the other two couples who did our infant CPR and monitor training session. It's a big world out there with all sorts of people is all I'll say about that.

I am glad that fausto is doing better. The picture of him with all the wires running from his head, reminded me of the EEG's I had a a kid. He's so cute!!
Hugs all around
Jennifer
yay for coming home soon! I'm relieved to hear the neuro report, and I'm glad to hear that you'll have tools and technology to let you sleep as well.
Much much love,
Megan
