Welcome to baby sea monkey land, where I will report the sweet, cuddly, gooey, and alien aspects of pregnant life, and eventually baby life. "Sea monkey" is what we're calling the critter that's currently the size of a lentil.
First off, the timeline thing is a scam. 7 weeks really means something like 5 weeks, since the doctors all count from the first day of the last period. This might be common knowledge to you, but I still feel like a poser acting like I've been pregnant for 7 weeks. Not that they're mutually exclusive, but I was only married 7 weeks ago.
The news of the week is that we met with our midwifes, Amy and Andrea, and our "birth plan" includes a home birth. Neat-o! Yep, if all goes well, baby might be born in our dining room. (Note to self: get curtains.) Here's what the sea monkey looks like at this point, according to the folks at babycenter.com. I'm relieved to see that I have something to show for the exhaustion. I read in one of the books that the work of creating a placenta is about equivalent to mountain climbing (generally exhausting, lots of red blood cell generating, etc).

Abuelita Arli Con Amor!
